Panache Andorra Review

Hello again dear readers, hope your having a great 2013. This time I wanted to do a review of the Andorra.

The Andorra by Panache is a very soft feeling bra that is sexy. The design on the bra itself is really pretty. Luckily, this is one of the bras that you do not need to hand wash which I can appreciate *even though I always hand wash now*. My only concern about this bra is it looks like it would not hold up well if you have to do strenuous activity and work. I will have to update later about the price. They offered some really neat colors on this bra from what I remember, I wish I had picked up the lagoon one but black goes good with everything :)
- After a few months, I will say the band feels very tight as well, and unfortunately this does not fit me as well as it used to. It is a lovely bra but I feel that Panache bands always run tight compared to some others :(
Support Level-Medium to really good
Price Tag-??
Washing/Care-Hand washing is probably best but in a lingerie bag shouldn't be too bad on the delicate cycle.
Colors/Design-I appreciate that they offered some nice colors on this one!
Complaints-I am a little concerned about it being used for days where you have to do lifting/working but other than that, its a great bra.
Comments-This one is a really great bra as well that is definately worth picking up. Give it a try, and I am pretty sure you will like it. I like how comfortable it is and if you do gain a few inches in the bust, this wont be a huge deal in this bra unlike some others.

Natori Calais Review

Hello dear readers. Hopefully you are having a great Saturday!I have more reviews on the way but for now, I wanted to focus on the Natori Calais. This bra is actually one of my favorites, it is very supportive, and seems to conform to your body. Out of my whole collection, this is one of the most comfortable ones yet. I would argue it is well worth the price, which is 64 dollars. The patterns on this bra are gorgeous and unique, and I would love to see more bras like this. For me, this is one of the bras I have that I always love wearing, and out of my collection, I would argue one of the best. In terms of material-this is probably a bra to be careful with if you are doing strenuous activity. I would say if you are thinking of buying a Natori bra for yourself for Christmas, this is the one to go with.

Washing/Care-Hand washing is recommended.
Colors/Design-This is by far one of my favorite designs on a bra. It is really gorgeous
Complaints-More colors would be nice.
Comments-This is by far my favorite bra out of my entire collection. If you need a new bra, and don't mind hand washing, pick this one up right away.

Are bras a neccesity for women? (Comments welcomed,)

Hi again dear readers. I wanted to post this about perspective on bras. I want to hear/discuss from my readers if this is possible.

I know for a fact many women have thought of going bra-less, due to the fact that firstly, an improper fitting one can be agonizing, but bras can be expensive as well. So here is my question, why do we wear them?

I would argue we wear them for multiple reasons. Half of those reasons our for ourselves, but the others are for our society.

While there is no proof *as far as I know* that not wearing a bra can cause sagging, some people believe that. I personally wear bras to support my bust during harder work days, where I am moving around a lot.

I have felt the horrors of wearing an improperly fitting bra during heavy activity, and can remember the pain vividly. I wanted to share a story of my own about why bras are really important. I took up the job mowing my family's eight acre property, and I was wearing a flimsy bra (think, the cheap XL/L sports bras that have universal sizing) that did not support me at all. I recall the last part was brutal because the last part I mowed was extremely bumpy, and all that bouncing around was incredibly painful. I would not wish that on anyone.

I also think that it is socially unacceptable in our culture to not wear a bra, interestingly enough. At least in a retail/professional setting. Think of employers-if they interviewed two busty women, one who didn't wear a bra, my guess is she would not be hired.

So in review-I believe we wear them because we are expected to. I have heard women who don't wear bras in public be called *slobs* and *mannerless*. I also believe they help us when they fit properly *protect us against prying eyes, help support them during our active lifestyle, help us seem more professional*
I also can understanding not wanting people to be staring at your chest throughout the day *bras help that typically*.

So, my question to my readers tonight is why do you wear a bra? Do you think as women we are conditioned/expected to wear them? Do you wear them for personal reasons or a bit of both? Do you think its acceptable, or unacceptable for a woman to not wear a bra in public?

Natori Sheer Luxe Review

Hi again. I wanted to post a few new reviews tonight, but this one is my first review of the night. The Sheer Luxe by Natori is a wonderful bra, that is supportive, and has wonderful material. I will say at first, I was worried because I heard/felt the bra shifting/conforming to my breast tissue at work, and I was concerned the bra was ripping as I was wearing it. My current occupation, I put merchandise away at a Pet store, but also cashier. This bra handled my job extremely well, and still is holding up well. This bra is very comfortable, and fits nicely. They offer three different colors, Black and white, red and white, and tan and white if I am not mistaken. This is one of my favorites and is definitely worth the 50 dollar price tag. My only complaint is that the cup actually ends right where the nipple area is, and this makes me a bit nervous when it is cooler outside. The colors are beautiful, and I do not think the photos do it justice. This bra is really comfortable, and I would say a welcomed addition to my lingerie drawer.

Washing/Care-Lingerie bag is fine, use on delicate cycle in a lingerie bag is preferred.
Colors/Design-Beautiful, the photos do not do justice.
Complaints: I only wish the cup went above the nipple area, I am a bit worried as the temperatures drop. Otherwise, it fits pretty good. The band seems a bit tight but it may need stretched out.
Comments: I love how sturdy the material is, I was so nervous at first but this is excellent. This is a bra you can be active in,and do not need to worry about tearing.

The importance of proper fitting *and consequences of improper ones*

Hi dear readers. There will be another bra review in about a week or two. I decided it is a bit more fun to keep the reviews or new bras as a surprise until the day of the review. I wanted to today talk about why proper fit is important. This is just from personal experience, everyone may feel different about it but I recall in some books on bras that certain things can definitely happen with proper, or improper fit.

So lets begin with proper fit-Proper fit feels great, you feel supported and you may even feel empowered or confident *I know when my bra fit well, I felt like a rockstar*. My posture was better, I stood up taller, and overall, felt better about myself.  Also you will not have to worry about things all day like straps falling down, back pain, headaches, and other pains as well. Bras can really make you feel great, but they can also make your day miserable. I highly recommend a good fitter because even with the measure at home technique, it is easy to go wrong. Lets take for example your band is right at 31 or 33-if you have a good fitter, you will know exactly what size band to get and what cup size to get. If I did my measurements from home, I know for a fact I would get the wrong size *especially if we use the bad plus four or six rule for band size*

When your bra doesn't fit properly, some people have back pain, neck pain, headaches, emotional, and mental stress. I remember personally going through a job interview and my straps kept falling, even though the day wasn't awful, I was in a bad mood due to that. If you work a demanding job, and your bra doesn't fit, you may spend time adjusting/fixing it. I have noticed some jobs, if you take any time for yourself, thats forbidden, let alone if you keep having to fix/adjust your bra. If you are physically active, and working, you owe it to yourself to be fitted in a proper fitting bra. I have spent years in the wrong size, and I can tell you, I wish I could go back now, get fitted, and I would have probably been a bit happier person. Keep in mind, we are expected to wear our bras all day, so if it isn't fitting, you have guaranteed yourself a day of possibly headaches, back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, and being moody *that's what it did for me*.

Have a great day!

If you are having bra issues, I can try to help you(leave a comment in the comment section if you like) but I strongly urge you to find a fitter and get fitted, especially for October, or Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I highly recommend A Sophisticated Pair because Erica is by far the best fitter I know

Natori Yogi

Hi dear readers, hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Today, my Natori Yogi bra arrived and it blew me away with how wonderful it was. This is by-far my new favorite bra. It is a bit more pricey thank the regular Natori Sports bras but still as comfortable, and this one feels a little more supportive, as in it held me together better. My only complaint is I wish they had more colors, this is a fantastic bra otherwise, and I would be happy to buy a few more of these if they had different colors. In terms of material, it is a very soft, and sturdy material. I really enjoyed working today due to how great this bra was. Pick this one up when you get a chance, I think you will love it.

Support Level-Medium to really good. As with most sports bras, this doesn't seem to work well with extenders so I would avoid using one on an extender.
Price Tag-$64
Washing/Care-Hand washing is not needed, you can use it in a lingerie bag or on delicate cycle *or both*
Colors/Design-Nicely designed, wish they had more colors though.
Complaints: As with most sports bras, the material is a bit tight in the band.
Comments:This bra is sturdy, and supportive. No problems with it.
Rating-Five out of five stars.
Have a great night!

Natori Body Lace Double

Hello dear readers, I know it has been awhile. Lets begin with the Natori review. The bra itself is very sturdy, and wonderful *very comfortable as well*.  The colors it comes in are black and nude, and the price tag is 70 dollars. For the price, it is a wonderful bra, comfortable, and very supportive. I very much like this bra, and actually wish I had another one. I wish it was a little cheaper, and they offered more colors, but honestly, that is about the only flaw. I would recommend using caution when wearing this if you are working hard, as this bra is a bit delicate.

Support Level-Great
Price Tag-$70
Washing/Care-Hand wash only.
Colors/Design-Design is pretty, although I wish they offered more colors/
Complaints: I really like this bra however, this is a bra that needs hand washed. If you are always on the go, and don't like hand washing, this probably isn't the best one for you. The price tag is a bit high, but understandable.
Comments: This is a soft, smooth bra that is excellent, and seems to fit really well. This is one of my favorite bras byfar, along with the Calais.
Rating-Five out of five, this bra is heavenly.

Hope you have a wonderful night!

Updates

Hi again readers. Hope you are having a lovely evening. As you have noticed, I changed the look of the blog a bit. I am going to be doing 2 Natori bra reviews in about a week or two. Afterwards, there may be awhile before my next update because of weight fluctuations *these can impact your bra size*. I am probably going to wait a few weeks while I get used to my new job. I will still be posting reviews but it may be awhile before anything new *outside of the two upcoming Natori reviews* comes up. I also felt like adding some photos so I will do that at the end of this post.

I also wanted to thank Erica and A Sophisticated Pair for helping me pick out bras, and also trying to save me money. The great thing about A Sophisticated Pair is that they value you as a customer. You aren't a sale to them. This has been proven to me by the fact that the shop wants to help me save money on bras until my weight stabilizes. I have never felt pushed into buying anything, never had to return anything because of incorrect sizing, and Erica helps with such passion and experience, you can't help but love the excellent customer service. Most places, if you mention weight fluctuations, they want to capitalize, or cash in on that. Not here, they look after you like family! Thank you Erica and A Sophisticated Pair.

Have a great night, dear reader!

Shower Hug Review

I wanted to do a  review of the Shower Hug. The customer service is wonderful if you have any questions about sizing and help. When I used it to see if it would help with my mastalgia *or breast pain* it worked. The shower hug is really nice in the shower, and feels really good. Also, if you are sensitive to how hard the water is coming out of the shower head, this is perfect. All in all I would recommend this. The nice thing about this as well is you can use it to hold hot or cold packs, and can wear it around the house if you don't feel like wearing a bra *its supportive, and nice just for chilling out, and a little extra coverage*.  The material is soft as well. Glad they made this, I really like it. It is like a spa for your tender breasts if you are having any trouble. Pick one up if you are interested. I can't wait to get back in the shower and use it again.
Rating- Five out of Five.

Blogroll/Favorite Websites for Bra Info.

 Bra Shopping/Bra Fitting Help

In my opinion, the best place to shop for bras. They do an excellent job of answering every bra question you have, and to boot, they are VERY accurate with the measurements and fitting. I have never once had to return anything because it was the wrong size. They are always extremely polite on the phone, and in email.  Out of the seven or eight bras I bought from them, none had to be returned due to wrong size. They also educate you about bras *I have learned a lot thanks to Erica*

New Name/Expanding Blog

Hello again. I have changed this blog around a bit because I would like to be able to review different things, rather than just one. The bra reviews are going to stay up, and there will be book reviews and more added. I have been debating this change for awhile, and now I have decided to make it happen. The book reviews I will be doing are going to cover women's health topics.  Hope you are going to like the new look and feel. I have labeled the Sports Bra and Regular Bra reviews as well, so it should be easier looking for the reviews you are looking for.I have also sorted them by brand.

Upcoming Reviews and Thank Yous

Hello readers, I know it has been awhile since I wrote a post.  I am going to do two different reviews, one will be the shower hug  for mastalgia in my case, typically for nursing/pregnant mothers. *I ordered the wrong size earlier, so that will be in a week or less*, and the Natori Yogi which will be ordered from A Sophisticated Pair.

I wanted to personally thank A Sophisticated Pair and Erica for their help answering my questions today, as well as getting me in the right bras. She takes customer service very seriously, and has a wonderful personality. There is really no reason to order from anywhere else, and I know she is compassionate, and caring. I am set for life with her as my bra fitter, and very thankful she helps me. I have never experienced the customer service such as hers, she takes time to answer all my questions(and I ask a lot, I was clueless thanks to some of the bad fitting advice).I cant say enough how helpful she is, I wish the shop had opened when I was younger.  Growing up, I did not get any help with bras, and she has been like the big sister I never had. I am very grateful for her, and her wisdom/advice. I would be a total wreck without her, stuck in ill fitting bras *and back/neck pains and headaches to boot*If you have a daughter, she is the fitter I would highly recommend for both of you. She remembers every customer from what I can tell, and connects with them, which is a key in a relationship. She would get an A Plus on customer service if I gave her a report card.

I wanted to thank the Shower Hug Creators, and people who interacted with me via email. They were extremely friendly, and helpful. Their customer service is amazing, and I cant wait to do a review of the product.

I wanted to thank Ali Cudby and Elizabeth Dale for helping me with all my questions as well. They take time to respond to questions on Facebook and I am very appreciative. These four women have been very helpful and deserve a big thank you. All three of you have helped me and impacted my life positively, in some way, and I owe you a thank you.

Have a wonderful evening.

Sports Bra Reviews

I wanted to offer a summary about the Sports Bras I have purchased so far. I wanted to also explain what I think is the Best Sports Bra available out of the four brands I have, and which ones I didn't feel did as well. Please note all the bras are great, I am not criticizing them negatively, just explaining if I see anything that I would like to improve upon.

Cost wise-The Natori was the cheapest at fourty eight dollars, and the Panache was the most expensive at sixty eight dollars.

Shape Wise-All of the bras except the Freya had a nice regular shape. The Wacoal and the Natori stayed the truest to the breast shape, and the Panache does the same as well. The Freya bra had a cone shape to it in the cup, and drew more attention to my chest then I would have liked. I generally avoid wearing the Freya unless I will be wearing a work shirt or baggier clothes all day, then it isn't so bad.

Durability Wise-All the bras did well, I do not see any flaws in any of the bras with the material handling work.

Comfort Wise-The Natori Sports Bra is byfar the most comfortable, I feel like I could sleep in it. All the others are comfortable as well but the Natori takes the cake in comfort.

Activity Level-All the sports bras did well, the Panache one especially feels very supportive but they all are.

I am off to work, hope you have a wonderful weekend dear readers!

Panache Sports Bra Review

Hello, hope everyone is going to have a fantastic, fun weekend up ahead of them. This time, I wanted to review the Panache Sports Bra. I will also look into posting a "Sports Bra Competition" between the Four Bras with my reviews, which will be basically I will look into price, durability, shape, and other things I can hopefully think of when I am typing the next review :P.

Alright, well the Panache bra is definitely supportive, and does a wonderful job at work with whatever activity you are doing. I cannot really think of any complaints with this one, however I will definitely say compared to the soft material of the Natori, this isn't a super comfy bra *it still feels good at work, but in terms of comfort, the Natori takes the cake*. In terms of price, its around 70 dollars, which is fair but I feel it is a bit pricy. The shape that the cups take when wearing a t-shirt is fine, it does not have the cone shape compared to the Freya. I like how sturdy the Panache bra is, and how it would definitely be good for any activity workout/job you may be doing.

The Pros-Decent amount of colors to purchase, not just black and white. Very sturdy, nice shape under a t-shirt.

The Cons-A bit pricy *but fair, I have heard that these can last up to two years with good care*. The material is pretty comfortable but it is not as comfy as the Natori *although I think this will handle more activity better than the Natori*

Rating-Five out of Five, this isn't what I would call a "relaxing bra" like the Natori Sports one, but it does its job well. This is a good any level of activity bra.

Natori Sports Bra Review

 Happy Friday the 13th!!

The Natori Sports bra arrived earlier today, and I was blown away at how comfortable this is. It is so comfortable, I plan on ordering two. In terms of support, I am not sure yet how it stacks up compared to the others, and I will be reporting on that further down the road. They have very basic colors *red, grey, black, and white*. For the price, I would say this is one of the most reasonable, all around wonderful sports bra. The material itself feels very cotton like, and is wonderful.

I honestly do not have any complaints about this bra, and honestly prefer it over all the other sports bras I own *hence why I will order a second one*. I like how, like the Wacoal, it conforms to the breast shape instead of being cone shaped like the Freya. This is a sports bra you can both relax in, and work hard/play hard in. This and the Jude Cleo by Panache are the best value for the money in my opinion.

Rating: 5/5-good value, seems supportive, and is actually comfortable. Doesn't feel constricting like some of the bras do. I could sleep in this bra, and this is one of the only bras I own that are really that comfortable.

Have a lovely Friday the 13th

Elle Macpherson Intimates Sheer Ribbons Underwire Bra

The Elle Macpherson Intimates Sheer Ribbons Underwire Bra is a nice bra that is affordable, however there is one flaw I see with it-I feel like the fabric in the band is delicate, and thus should not be used with a very active lifestyle. This is the type of bra that would be good for a stay at home all day, or nice evening out bra, but I would not wear this bra to work *Mine has a small tear, but the job that day was physically demanding* This bra is really comfortable, and supportive however it can tear easily, and I wouldnt use this bra if you are planning on being remotely active that day. This is just a delicate bra. The price was reasonable, and I do like the look or style of the bra.

Pros: Pretty, supportive yet soft.
Cons: Tears seemingly easily if you work a physically demanding job. This is a bra that you should not take risks with if you are doing anything active. The price isn't bad, but for the money I think the Cleo is a better bet if you are active. (Both are near the same price)

Overall-4/5. If they made the material to be more sturdy, this would be perfect.

Have a great 4th of July!

Freya Bra Review

This is the Freya Sports bra I am doing a review on. I really liked that they offered red as a color. This is my first encounter with the Freya brand so I was a bit iffy at first. I will say, the band feels tighter than most 32s I have come across *it still fits well, but at first it was a bit of a shock*. After wearing it, the band is more comfortable now. It is very supportive and as far as I can recall, did well at work. The only downside I will say is the cups are cone shaped of sorts, and there is extra material I noticed around the nipple area. Other than that, its a wonderful bra. I personally prefer the Wacoal sports bra a little better because that stays true to my shape, and this bra has a little bit of a puff around the nipple area *which can look funny, Im not sure how comfortable I would be wearing this under a tighter fitting shirt*. All in all, it supported me well throughout my intense work days, and does its job. I wish they had made it less cone shaped around the nipple area, I fill the cup well, thats the only problem I have so I know its not a cup size problem. I will continue wearing this bra, and really like it. Again, the only flaw I see is the cone shaped bra cup, and again that is to be expected. I would recommend this bra but be warned about the cone shapes.  Price wise, this wasn't too bad but again, I preferred the Wacoal sports bra. I feel like the Wacoal bra fits my shape a little better.

From what I can recall, the pricing is about the same on the Wacoal and Freya, the Wacoal was a bit more expensive *around 5 dollars* but I liked the shape and fit of the Wacoal better

So, my rating is this-It is comfortable, and fits well, but with the cups looking so funny/cone shaped sticking out, I do not recommend wearing this under tighter fitting t-shirts, because it will draw attention and look funny. Four out of five for me, I didn't like how it had a cone shape to it that stuck out.

Rating: 4/5
Pros: Supportive, red color(or variety, not just black, grey, and white).
Cons: The cone shape of the bra itself, band seemed a bit too tight but is manageable. This won't be a good bra if your weight fluctuates *a few weeks ago, the band doesn't even fit anymore*.

Hope you are having a wonderful summer! Stay hydrated.

Wacoal Underwire Sports Bra Review

Once again, A Sophisticated Pair did a wonderful job helping me finding the perfect fitting bra. This time, I tried a different cup size from my normal ones, and it worked out really well. At first, I was worried but Erica from A Sophisticated Pair really knows what she is doing, and I can't say enough how happy I am I didn't have to return this, as in it fits perfectly. This bra did really well yesterday working both jobs where I am extremely active. It was supportive, and nice. It really kept my dry, and kept the bouncing down pretty well. How does this stack up to other sports bras? I cant really say quite yet *I ordered the wrong size Panache from another place, so its hard to compare when one doesn't fit* I will say with all the moving around I did, this did really well at encapsulating my breasts, and keeping them in place. The only thing I find a little funny about this bra is the picture shows you the front of the bra. I figured I was wearing that wrong since the back of this is actually smooth, but that is how it is. Still does a wonderful job, and I would definitely suggest picking one up if you need support at work. The price was actually around the same as the Panache, so when I do get my other 2 sports bra orders in, I will give feed back between the three. As for right now-I am in love, and really like wearing this bra. I wish I had another one actually, that is how good it is. As a reviewer though, I want to be diverse on the Bras I look into, rather than sticking with one brand. How can you know what you like until you try everything? The material is sturdy, and can handle hard days. This one is a keeper, and I would recommend picking one up.

Rating: Five out of Five-This is a great sports bra!
Pros: Smooth cup, fits really well, and adjusts well. Also seemed to minimize bounce
Cons: None, perhaps if they had a red color I would buy another.

Panache Cleo Jude Review

Let me start off by saying wow, this bra is amazing. I cant believe how well it fits me, even my partner was impressed with it. I thought to myself "this fits like a glove" *which is extremely rare for me, so pick this one up*.

Thankfully, A Sophisticated Pair figured my size out right away, so I didn't need to return this at all.

To begin-It fits well, its beautiful, and I love it. I will probably end up buying another one, in a different color that's how good it is. I was actually at work, then I had to do some physically demanding work *moving at a fast pace, putting product out on the shelf, etc* and this bra held up well, not having any problems. I usually wear a sports bra *unfortunately, I am wearing the wrong size because I didn't get fitted properly (I should have gone to A Sophisticated Pair first), and will have to wait until the right size sports bras come in* and this actually did about the same as the sports bra, I felt like. Its amazing what good fit can do. The colors are beautiful, and this is a fun all day bra in my opinion. I felt very supported, and that is something I don't usually feel. Panache just seems to be a wonderful brand. This bra is great, and I would highly recommend it.The material is good, and even if its hot or cold, you don't have to worry about coverage, this bra offers good coverage and support. It also stays in place well when you are active.  Honestly, for the price, and great customer service though, I would go to A Sophisticated Pair.  There you have it, excellent bra. Gets a five out of five from me.

A Sophisticated Pair Follow Up

Reading the Facebook page of A Sophisticated Pair, it says that they treat customers like family-And I must say, this is extremely true. I don't think I have ever had any better customer service than with A Sophisticated Pair. I don't just feel like a "sales number" when I talk on the phone to Erica, or order online. When I ask questions via email, she takes time to answer each individual question. She makes sure that your bra fits you properly.

I firmly believe the fitters at A Sophisticated Pair want you to feel your best at all times, wearing a fitting bra. I know for a fact as well she will work with me until we get my size figured out, and that means that she has helped me obtain one of my goals in life *Finally knowing what bra size will fit me, and not feeling miserable everyday in bras that fit poorly, and aren't supportive*

So here was my first experience-I got my bra very promptly on Monday, I was impressed with how quick the shipping was. Erica from A Sophisticated Pair is one of the most patient, nice people I know. She has answered every single question I have had abour bra fit, and helped me figure out a little more about what type of bras will, and wont work for me. I would highly recommend A Sophisticated Pair for all your bra needs. This proves that there ARE retailers in the United States who truly care about proper fit. Erica is working with me to find my size, and what styles will work best with me. I will keep everyone posted, but I must say, A Sophisticated Pair gets a ten out of ten on customer service, and I would happily buy from her in the future.

I had to return the bra, because I ordered the wrong size. I was worried about returning it, but there was no issues, and Erica took the bra right back as soon  as possible. I must say, customer service is very important in this day and age. A Sophisticated Pair is the model that Lingerie Fitters should have a goal of being like. A Sophisticated Pair is one of a kind though, and I am glad I have Erica as my bra fitter. My only wish is that I lived closer to the shop, and ordered from A Sophisticated Pair sooner.

Book Reviews!

This list is going to start out from most helpful, or what I recommend, to what I found to be least helpful. I am mainly going to look at content but also how they arrive to suggest bra fitting help. So for example, anyone who suggests the plus four, five, or six method probably wont rank very high on this list. Here we go:

Top Pick: Busted: The Fab Foundations Guide to Bras that fit, flatter, and feel fantastic by Ali Cudby- This book is very educational, and suggests trying stuff on, rather than working with the tape measure. She suggests if you don't know your size, work with bringing the band down until it fits, then adding a cup size. This formula works out really well because I wear a 34 C that doesn't fit, and with the suggestion, we can reduce it to a 30 DD/E. I have yet to try a 30 E bra on, however there is one that should be arriving in the mail shortly, and that will be my next review. She says there really is no such thing as being a cup size, and that makes sense. For example, a 36B is a 34C is a 32D, is a 30DD/E. They hold about the same amount of volume (or breast tissue), only difference is the band. Ali's book also gives helpful hints on how to find your size for different models, helpful tips for washing, helpful charts, and a plethora of other helpful things. This book is so good I actually keep it in my purse  so if I am hanging out with a friend whos having the same issues I am having, she can read it, and apply it to her current bra knowledge. This book is extremely educational, and I like that about it. I think in fact to take it a step further, this should be taught in High School as a staple text book. Get this book, you wont regret it. My only regret with this book is not buying it sooner.
Bottom line, this is the best book on bras available from my perspective. If you have to choose only one out of all these books, I would say choose this one.

I also wanted to add this, because I forgot to mention it but I think it is very important and awesome. With purchase of the book, you get access to the webpage that allows you to print off the charts and tips in this book, as well as actually email the author. Ali has done a wonderful job answering all my questions, and being nice at answering them. I ask a lot of questions and she was always happy to answer them. So to sum this up- I think every woman should own this book.

Second Place: Boobs: A guide to your girls by Elisabeth Squires.-This book really covered a lot about breast health and breasts in general. I really enjoyed the very wide range of topics, and even some little known tidbits about American Culture and breasts. The bra fitting advice was a little confusing in the book because she used a different bra sizing method from a plastic surgeon, she also offered the "go down a band size, up a cup" method which isn't flawed. The plastic surgeons method put me *not surprisingly* at a 34C but its clear to me that size doesn't fit. I would argue most American fitters would peg me at that size, but it doesn't work for me. This is the other bra book I keep in my purse, and covers more on breasts than just bras. Busted is great but mainly focuses on Bras, this one is more about breasts *how fitting for the title*. I love this book, and would definitely read it any day. I think every woman and girl should own this book too.
Another book to check out on the topic of breasts is: Breasts by Meema Spadola. This book is wonderful because it explains the different perspectives on breasts from different women. It offers perspectives from different points of life too which I think is wonderful. This book really paints a picture of the diversity of perspectives on breasts from women. I haven't fully had a time to read the entire book however I did watch the documentary entirely, and watch some of the book. It definitely made me feel better about not having bigger breasts, like American Culture seems fixated on. I would recommend this book as well but I would argue more for a women studies course, or female anatomy course.  This book didn't help with bra size much though so it doesn't really have a place, I included it for kicks.

Third place is The Bra Book by Jene' Luciani. I enjoyed how colorful this book was, and the illustrations included. This book is good for when you have actually found your size, and want to know more about bra fashion. She suggests different things, such as possibly add two inches, or add nothing. I like how she suggested to do whatever formula works best for you, and recalculate it from there. She says to be prepared to fluctuate bra sizes a lot until you find your fit. I felt that the other two books were more educational, and this one was more colorful but I felt there could have been a bit more content, or diversity on content. She says there is no standard size for bras, and just to try things on. Bottom line is its trial and error. This books emphasis is on fashion but it still is a little helpful in finding your size. The book included some male perspectives on bras as well which was interesting. I liked how the author showed the fax-paus, and used photographs to explain things instead of just writing about them. This book is great because it is so colorful, and helpful. I would also recommend this book for everyone who wears a bra, its a great book.

Next up is The Lingerie Handbook by Rebecca Apsan. The Lingerie Handbook had alot of photographs which were pretty on its pages, however in terms of bra fitting it just suggested trial, and error. I felt like this was mainly focused on fashion more than Jene Luciani's book, and I didn't find it to be too terribly helpful in finding my size out. I felt like the book was interesting however it wasn't very focused on being education about bras, rather it was fashion oriented.

The last book on my list was Bra Talk by Susan Nethero. This book was written differently than I expected. The book gives personalized stories/accounts of bra fitting issues, as well as how to fix them for the most part. While this isn't bad, I liked how Ali Cudby's book was easy to pick up, and flip through to the right page. I wouldn't call this a reference book. I was a little disappointed with the book but it offered good fitting help as well. I thought that writing the book via stories was interesting but perhaps could have been executed better.

The last book wasn't necessarily disappointing but I didn't think their advice was very helpful. As stated earlier, anything that suggests adding plus four, five, or six is going to be a problem with me because of all the pain it has put other women  (including myself) in.  Again, I am in no way shape or form putting these books down, rather I am stating how helpful I have found them to be for myself.

Busting Out by Shirley Archer gives the terrible advice of plus four or five. The book isn't all that bad but its more about stretching and helpful tips to make your bosoms appear a bit bigger. I didn't find the book to be too helpful but if you are looking for exercises to increase your bust, this isn't a bad little book.

So, the top three most helpful were : 1.) Busted: The Fab Foundations Guide to Bras that fit, flatter, and feel fantastic by Ali Cudby, 2.)Boobs: A guide to your girls by Elisabeth Squires and 3.)  The Bra Book by Jene' Luciani.

Butterfly Collection Skype Bra Fitting

If you need help finding your bra size, click  the link below here and check this out.

http://www.butterflycollection.ca/skype-bra-fittings/

This has been the most empowering thing I have done for myself in awhile, and anyone can do it just like me. I just wanted to say if you need any help with your bra at all, or bra questions, especially if you are bigger busted, check Butterfly Collections skype fitting out.

What makes this so special? You can get fitted at home, and the person doing the fittings is extremely helpful. I have been to Intimacy before, and Victorias Secrets as well as a few other places, and byfar this experience blew me out of the water in a wonderful way. Claire is extremely knowledgable and I would recommend her to anyone.

This skype fitting would get a five out of five star review from me. Claire was helpful, nice, and she answered all my questions. She was not pushy at all to sell things (I felt no pressure to buy anything), but I would highly recommend her, and look foreward to making a few purchases to support The Butterfly Collection. The skype fitting ensures you are doing your measurements correctly, as well as helps you with any questions you may have about bras. I asked several diffrent questions, and each answer was good. There was no "I dont know", or anything like that. Clearly, its not scripted.  Bottem line- If you have any bra problems, do yourself a favor and check it out.

Take it from me, I wish I would have done this sooner. Your boobs and body will thank you for getting a proper fitting!

iPhone Bra App Reviews

Alright, these are the apps I have purchased before, and am doing a review of them. I will also include the links so that if you are interested, you can purchase them.

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bra-fitter/id336858624?mt=8

1.) It costs two dollars but gives you alternative sizes, and suggestions.  This has got to be my favorite app, byfar, because it has 4 diffrent settings -percision, which offers a chart of sizes that may fit, as well as their best guess, intuition which offers their guess and closest sizes, and description, which writes it out in text. You can also post your size on faceook, and they offer bras in your size *possibly, I havent seen any for me but the size recommended is not typically available in the US.

Rating 4 out of 5. Nice to see suggestions, and ability to post bra size on facebook is interesting.

2.)There is a Natori Bra Finder app which comes close, and if im not mistaken its free, but doesnt offer diffrent sizes. This actually recommended a 34DDD, and I know that cant be right because I wear a 34C, 34D doesnt fit as well.

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/natori-find-your-perfect-bra/id434731838?mt=8

Rating: 2 out of 5. I dont think the sizing is accurate but thats a fair rough guesstimate.

3.)The third app which costs .99 cents is not too bad as well but the top app is my favorite. This one gives you instructions via video how to measure, and is more accurate than the Natori one. This recommended I am a 30DDD or F, but I would have to check this out to see if its right.

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bra-sizer/id421159052?mt=8

Rating: 3 out of 5. I liked how they explained the bra fitting in video, although I would hate for the app to go off in public, that would be embarassing. I wish they had alternatives though.

Summary- The first app, which costs about two dollars, was byfar my favorite, and I would argue the best. The third one was great too, but I prefer the first one.

These are app screenshots. Let me know what you think if you have one or purchase one of these.

Victoria's Secrets Bra Fitting Review

This may not be a fair review because it was a few years ago, but I will go ahead anyway since I know they have stuck to the same methods *add several inches to your underbust measurement to get your band size*.

I was fitted for the first time ever, and they were nice to me however they had one fatal flaw-They put me in a 36A.I also noticed they barely grazed me with the tape measure, which probably lead to a fatally inaccurate reading.

Now just to clarify- I am at the very least a C cup, and tried to tell them this but they told me basically to try 34B if that doesnt work.

Thankfully, later, intimacy fitted me in a 34C or 32D, and I have come to find out how wrong they were.

The result of this bad fitting- Several days of wearing the too tight 36A or 34B bras lead to constant back pain, among other things. I contacted the company about the problem, and instead of saying "Get re-fitted professionally" or at least "Get re-fitted", they told me the bra was defective, and I could swap it out for a new one.

Now don't get me wrong, that was nice, however the problem wasn't the bras, it was the sizing.

If you go to V.S., don't be surprised if you are wearing the wrong size. Also, please don't get your daughters fit there, if you want to do it for yourself and are lucky enough not to have problems great, but she may not be.

I wont return there again after hearing some horror stories about certain chemicals in bras, and also their extremely bad advice. Their customer service was nice but they know so little about fitting, I dont think they should be giving any sizing advice. The problem that seems to occur most frequently is they put everyone in a way too large of band size.

Also, one thing that gives me a headache is their commercials, they sell but their models look thin, and all at least D cups. It looks like they all have implants, and are marketing unhappiness, rather than promoting women's bodies.

So that's my review of Victoria's Secrets-They are nice people but know nothing about bra sizes, or fitting them properly. Their commercials depict unattainable standards of the female body. If I am feeling up to it, I may return there, although needless to say I am a little concerned it will be a repeat of last time.

Introduction

Hello everyone.

This blog originally started out as a small blog about just bras, and I have decided to expand it to offer more variety for my readers. Typically what you will see are bra and book reviews, as well as more fun, quirky things thrown in.

Bras are important to me because:

-The main reason is because I am an odd size *Bigger bust, smaller band* Most retailers do not offer it *Try finding a bigger cup size with a smaller band size, its difficult.

-Also, I was never given any parental help/education with bras, so everything I learned *good and bad* was own.

This is a GBLTQ friendly blog, so everyone is welcome to post/comment, so long as they arent offensive/rude for no reason.
